Composer, audio engineer and educator Patrick McNeil was born in Montreal, Canada in 1971. Largely self taught, he worked in and around his native Montreal, recording and performing until his mid 20s, when he decided to study music formally. After graduating from the Vanier College music program, he attended the University of Western Ontario, where he studied composition with Jack Behrens, completing an honours BMus in theory and composition.
Pat has previously taught audio engineering for Recording Arts Canada, as well as music theory and music history for the Ontario Academy of Music. In addition, he’s maintained an active career as an audio engineer & composes whenever time allows.
After a six year stay in Ontario, McNeil returned to his native Montreal, where he teaches various courses in audio engineering, synthesis and production as part of Vanier College’s Audio Recording Technology program.
